January 11th: A Huge Conglomeration

These pictures are a huge conglomeration of places we have see over the past few days- from Corinth to Naplion.  As we have begun our tour of the Peloponnesian mountain range, I have seen just about every type of architecture I need see from Neo-classical to Byzantine.  My favorite part, and something new, would have to be our grand walk up the mountain by our house in Naplion.  We got to view all of the seaside town of Nafplion at the top of the Palamidi castle at sunset.  The Palamidi castle was constructed by Venetians in the 17th century- and it is obviously very medieval and Venetian.  These last two photos show how the castle was built.  These small holes in the wall must have been used to look out of to see who was attacking them- as Nafplion was repeatedly attacked by the French Crusaders.
